Aquaponics Workshop for Pearl City Complex Educators

Hapa Farms participated in a workshop for educators in the Pearl City Complex on December 8. The workshop was held at Highlands Intermediate School and was led by isisHawaii, CTAHR, Hapa Farms, and teachers from Highlands Intermediate school who shared their experiences with integrating aquaponics into their science curriculum and maintaining their systems. Hapa Farms presented on the applications of aquaponics in education, from science to environmental stewardship and current social issues. Participating teachers made their own static hydroponics systems to grow lettuce.
